- I buy growth-hormone free whole milk for my son.
- I believe that we are stewards of the earth, that we should use our resources carefully, and not put the economy above our friends the tree frogs without giving it a second thought.
- I hugged a tree while I was in Hawaii.
- I think we should practice the 3 R's even when it's inconvenient.
- I eat some animals, but am mindful that their lives were sacrificed. Recently in a prayer before eating some chicken I even noted that to God and my wife and I started giggling. It just sounded funny, you know? But I am mindful, and grateful.
- I like organic food.
- I turn off the water when I brush my teeth, and try to take short showers.
- I enjoyed An Inconvenient Truth and Who Killed The Electric Car?
- I don't know how I feel about more drilling. If it would prevent wars (which is what McCain seems to insinuate) I could definitely see the use. It does however seem like giving more crack to an addict rather than dealing with the problem.
- I think we have a responsibility to take care of animals, and treat them with respect.
To what extent should we take care of the environment? When do we go to far? When do we not go far enough? Should animals have rights? Are shopping malls more important than wildlife?
Those are good questions. I don't think a shopping mall is more important than animals, but I've never been in the position of making money off of a shopping mall, so who knows...
ReplyDeleteHow about a medical clinic? Are animals more important than an animal clinic?
I think we have to find a balance and make sure our way of life is not threatening the living things around us. I thought about my new house, and felt a little bad about building out here when I saw a dead animal on the side of the road. We keep building and where will the animals go?
I'm glad that there will be a nature preserve associated with Legacy highway. Some complain about the time and money wasted by Rocky Anderson and the "environmentalists" in delaying the project, but now we have something much nicer, somewhat less damaging to the environment and preserved land for animals and people to enjoy.
I think there is a place for all sides, they help balance each other.
to answer your questions-the second coming is going to take care of that i think. too far will definitly not be reached as long as chain smokers live on the earth. i don't get this one...you worded it wierd :) of course, bambi and keiko should have rights. animals are people too, right? and yes, where would the world be without nordstrom? you know i'm totally kidding on that last one--i, of course, meant abercrombie...ha ha
ReplyDeleteps yes, you are one of those crazy, liberal tree-huggers. hormone-free milk? come on, you can't even get the other stuff anymore. i wish i could type with sarcasm because both of these comments are chock-full of it :)
